Anatomy of a Purse

I should have taken more pictures! This is what I started with:

It takes forever to cut all the pieces out!

Next step was to sew the interfacing pieces to the lining pieces:

And this is the end result: a diaper bag/purse for my sister!

Barbie Clothes 3

This outfit makes me think of a movie I recently watched- "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying". The pleats were tough! I can't imagine making a skirt with pleats for a human! Barbie's was hard enough!

And this one reminds me of "Happy Days". There is supposed to be matching underwear underneath, but I didn't want to bother with the elastic. Too much work. She's Barbie, not a real person!

Barbie Clothes 2

I found a great model for the photo shoot! Isn't she lovely? She managed to have the exact same look in every shot! Amazing!

This one reminds me of Nancy Drew (especially with the scarf!) and of Grace Kelly (especially the black!):

Barbie Clothes 1

Last Saturday, I wanted to do nothing but watch movies and Midsomer Murders all day. But I needed a project to work on. I'm waiting on a new screen for making paper, so that wouldn't do. And then I had an idea! I have so many little scraps of fabric, and a cool vintage Barbie clothes pattern. And put them together and you get these:

This one was fun, putting together the purple and violet. I like this pattern!

This one is the same as the violet ball gown:

And this coat pattern always makes me think of Audrey Hepburn:

raindrops on rosie

This purse is of my own design. I adore this fabric, so I'm keeping this one, but I am going to make more and sell them on my Etsy shop. :)

Deals!

20 zippers at 25 cents each! Brilliant! I now have enough zippers to last quite a while, and most of them are long ones, so it's easy to use in big OR small projects.

A piece of fabric bundled with some others. I like the others, but this one is my favorite. Ugly, but cool a the same time.

Let the sewing begin! Films to be watched during my next bit of sewing:
Clue (naturally!)
Summer Stock
My Fair Lady
