I also like to get to the sheets/bedding area. I found this sheet at one Goodwill and spent $3.99! It was a fitted and flat sheet set. The pattern has a cool vintage look and I excitedly began chopping it up into a purse the moment I got home. (Okay, exaggeration; I washed them first, and thought and planned, then I chopped.) For the sides I used some blue fabric that used to be scrubs and was sitting around the sewing room.
There is a great advantage I have in having a mom who always starts sewing projects, and then never finishes, leaving behind the fabric and materials. My own sewing room is like a little thrift store. Except everything is free.
